SARASOTA, Fla. ( WWSB ) - With school starting back up on Monday, it was a busy day at Fruitville Elementary.

Staff hosted a “Meet the Teacher” event to give students a chance to introduce themselves to their new teachers and see their classrooms for this coming school year.

Excited students walked the halls looking forward to all this school year has to offer. One student, Jack, shared his favorite subject.

“I am excited about art class because it’s fun and I feel like there is a lot of freedom. You are drawing and sculpting it’s fun”

Jack was very eager to meet his teacher for this year, Ms. Valentine. The fifth grade teacher is beginning her seventh year as an educator but this year is special for her.
