CLACKAMAS COUNTY, Ore. (KPTV) - The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) led a coordinated operation targeting illegal and predatory towing companies operating without the required state licensing in Happy Valley.
The July 30 investigation led to 19 safety violations, five illegal towing operations identified, one driver cited for driving without a license, two tow trucks towed, and three people arrested.
The operation aimed to protect consumers from unlicensed towing businesses that often use predatory and illegal practices.
CCSO said, “These unlawful operators not only put the public at risk, but they also undercut licensed towing companies and are frequently associated with other criminal activity.”
