COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - A suspect wanted for attempted murder took his own life after Orangeburg County deputies attempted negotiations.

Deputies were looking for Martinez in connection with a shooting on July 31 that left a man injured.

“This is never how you want situations like these to end, never,” the sheriff said. “He had family, loved ones, friends. Please say a prayer for all involved.”

A missing female, 19-year-old Mary Virginia Dilling, was located safely outside the residence.
