There will be no American-made components in a $20-million Hampton by Hilton hotel being built in Beamsville.
“I would say 96 per cent of the materials in this hotel come from Ontario,” said longtime hotel builder Gary Ulias, director of construction at Vaughan-based BCM , the general contractor erecting the five-storey hotel.
“We want everything homegrown.”
Ulias was at a Thursday morning groundbreaking ceremony for the Ontario Street hotel just south of the QEW.
When complete it will have 100 guest rooms, an indoor pool and 215 square metres (2,300 square feet) of conference space.
He said some of the hotel’s bathroom components will likely come from China.
