Changes to the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles will go into effect Sept. 30 following the passage of Ohio House Bill 96, which was signed by Gov. Mike DeWine June 30.

While rumors of new driver license laws impacting the availability of licenses for older adults circulated earlier this year, the revised Expiration and Renewal of License law going into effect next month will not change license requirements for seniors.

As driver license laws are regulated on a state-by-state basis, any changes to Ohio driver license laws would need to be introduced by Ohio lawmakers, Lindsey Bohrer, assistant communications director at the Ohio Department of Public Safety told the Cleveland Jewish News in an email.
