The newly constructed Sheetz at 5950 Cochran Road in Solon celebrated its grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on July 31.
The two-hour event marked the culmination of a years-long effort to bring Sheetz to the city. Construction began earlier this year following the passage of a rezoning issue by voters in November 2023.
Located in the city’s industrial district, Solon Mayor Eddy Kraus said the new Sheetz has opened during a period of growth for Solon, making it favorable for surging economic activity and development.
“We have 900 businesses that thousands of people visit and work at there,” Kraus told the Cleveland Jewish News on Aug. 5. “These people like to have food, coffee and gas, so it’s in the perfect spot.”
