GOSHEN, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Western Mass News is spending the next year celebrating the upcoming 250th Birthday of The United States.

In this latest edition of “We the People”, we take you to the Western Mass town of Goshen, to uncover a little-known historical treasure that you’ve probably never heard of. It’s called the Williams-Boltwood House, it could very well be the last building of its kind in the United States.

The year was 1779, as the Revolutionary War raged on, John Williams began construction on the first part of this building right here in Goshen, Massachusetts.

There have been several additions since then, and it’s served the town in a multitude of roles over the years, but this building has remained on this property for nearly 250 years – making it extremely unique.
