LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Typical summer heat and humidity will persist as we head near the weekend with a few daily storms possible too.

The weather pattern won’t change much over the next few days. For Friday, this means we’ll be back in the low-to-mid 90’s with heat indices between 100-105 degrees. A couple isolated storms will be possible but like the past few days, rain overall looks limited. So overall a hot one as some parts of the area head back to school.

Moving into the weekend, a few showers and storms will be possible each afternoon though nothing that looks too problematic for outdoor plans. Be sure to stay hydrated when outside.
