YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) -- Current drug trends are changing.

While Youngstown's Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) continues to find cocaine and fentanyl, it is now seeing a big increase in methamphetamine use in the local area.

"It's cheap, it's easy to get, and the cartels are flooding the market right now," said Bryan Klutzaritz, resident in charge of the Youngstown DEA office.

Klutzaritz said drug combinations are also making it more dangerous for users.

"So you're seeing a lot of other drugs that are getting mixed in with your main drugs, like cocaine and methamphetamine, that are making these drugs much more dangerous," he said.

The Youngstown DEA continues to find dealers and prosecute them.

"We are targeting these cartels, we are not going to stop until we defeat them," Klutzaritz
