(FOX40.COM) — On Tuesday, two suspects in the 2024 fentanyl-related death of a 25-year-old man were arrested, according to the Citrus Heights Police Department.

A 20-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man were taken into custody and charged with homicide, CHPD announced.

CHPD detectives determined that the two suspects provided the fentanyl that caused the victim's death in October.

Detectives also found evidence that both suspects had full knowledge of the fatal effects of fentanyl before selling it to the victim.

On October 23, 2024, CHPD officers and Sacramento Metro Fire medical responded to a report of an unresponsive 25-year-old male at a home in Citrus Heights. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, despite life-saving efforts.
