TOLEDO, Ohio —
Debris that has sat on a lot in east Toledo for months has been cleaned up.
Back in December of last year, a house in the 400 block of White Street burned down . According to the city, it was demolished in January. Once it was demolished, the remnants sat on the lot, bringing problems and vermin to the neighborhood.
"It smells like nature now," said Jessica Keller, who lives a few houses down from where the pile of rubble sat. "No nasty smell. No dead smell."
That wasn't always the case, as Keller said people would dump their trash in the lot, adding to the pile of growing debris.
"It stunk," neighbor Robert Arnold said. "It reeked so bad, it was in the house."
