WOOD COUNTY, Ohio — A 58-year-old woman died Friday morning after she hit into a semi truck disabled on the side of the road while driving in southern Wood County.

Kristine Krotzer, of Bloomdale, Ohio, was pronounced dead at the scene on state Route 18 near North Baltimore and Bushey Road, according to the Wood County Sheriff's Office. The semi driver, a 37-year-old from Portage, Ohio, was not in their vehicle at the time of the crash and not injured.

Krotzer was driving east on the state route in a minivan shortly after 8:30 a.m. when she hit the rear of the truck that was facing the same direction on the roadside with its warning equipment in place, the sheriff's office says. She was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The crash is under investigation.
