UPDATED with the latest: Firefighters are making progress in their battle against the Canyon Fire north of Los Angeles .
The fire, which broke out Thursday afternoon near Lake Piru, is now 25% contained, thanks to overnight water drops which kept the flames at bay, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The fire has burned 5,370 acres. One structure has been reported destroyed, but no residences have burned and no injuries have been reported. Per the Ventura Fire Department, 14,000 residents and 5000 structures remain under evacuation warning. In LA County Evacuation Orders cover 2700 residents and 700 structures.
