BRAINERD — A lack of a quorum prevented the Brainerd School Board from conducting business Thursday, Aug. 7.
The issue at hand is a looming deadline to vote to put an operating levy on the ballot this fall and a split board.
The regular August board meeting was originally scheduled for Monday, Aug. 11. That meeting was rescheduled due to notification there would not be a quorum present. A board work session was originally scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Thursday. Superintendent Peter Grant said when he was notified there would not be a quorum on Monday, the meeting was moved to Thursday, as board members were scheduled to be at the workshop anyway. That workshop was moved later in the day to allow for a regular meeting afterwards.
But there was no quorum for the rescheduled meetings either.
