The City of Copperas Cove has announced it will rescind its Stage 4 Order for water restrictions beginning at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7.

The City said it will instead implement a Stage 1 Order for Voluntary Water Conservation, effective immediately after the Stage 4 order is rescinded.

The City declared a local disaster and ordered Stage 4A Implementation of water restrictions following a break in one of the main transmission lines in the city's water system on the afternoon of Wednesday, Aug. 6.

The break "compromised the system’s ability to meet customer demand and increased the likelihood of water loss to areas of the City," causing emergency measures to be put in place until repairs
