CLOVIS, N.M. (KFDA) - A long-anticipated behavioral health facility is officially breaking ground Friday in Clovis.

The Horizon Behavioral Health Center will serve those across Eastern New Mexico, offering critical mental health and substance use treatment.

Governor Lujan Grisham awarded $10 million in capital outlay funding for the purchase of the land and construction of the facility.

Clovis City Manager Justin Howalt says this project is a regional partnership.

While the facility will be open to anyone who needs it, they’re specifically working with the city of Portales, the village of Fort Sumner, Curry, DeBaca, Quay, Roosevelt, and Union counties.
