NATCHITOCHES, La. (KALB) - Several busy streets in Natchitoches are set to receive major safety upgrades, thanks to a nearly $1.1 million federal grant aimed at protecting both drivers and pedestrians.

The funding will be used to install temporary traffic-calming measures such as speed tables on high-traffic roads, including Dixie Street, East Fifth Street, Fairgrounds Road and others. These upgrades are designed to reduce speeding and make the roads safer for everyone, particularly in areas known for dangerous intersections and right-angle crashes.
