OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Heading into the new school year, a Nebraska-based program is hoping to provide a solution to low math proficiency in the state.
With more than two decades of education experience, Merritt Nelson has seen how math teachers and students struggle. He created ImpactED Global as a solution.
“Nebraska’s facing a math crisis -- our nation is also facing a very critical math proficiency crisis. Knowing that three out of four Nebraska eighth graders and two out of three Nebraska fourth graders are not proficient in math, we decided to launch this company,” explained Nelson, CEO of ImpactED Global."
To address the proficiency gap, ImpactED worked with the University of Nebraska to gather data on math teachers, addressing their confidence in teaching to state standards, and t
