According to the Elk Grove Police Department, an employee at a recycling center near Bond Road and Elk Grove Florin Road was robbed at gunpoint shortly after noon on Thursday.
A pursuit into East Sacramento happened when officers lost sight of the suspect's pickup truck. Police later found the vehicle abandoned and arrested a 61-year-old man near Sacramento Charter High School.
Out of precaution, the school was placed on lockdown while officers were chasing the suspect. During the chase, the suspect tossed a firearm, which was later recovered, according to EGPD.
Police said the suspect was taken in
