ORONO, Maine — The University of Maine Black Bears are hitting the hardwood again—and this season, they’ve got an Ace up their sleeve.

Ace Flagg, the twin brother of NBA No. 1 draft pick Cooper Flagg , has joined the UMaine Men's Basketball team for his freshman season. A Newport native, Ace is looking to make his own mark close to home.

"It’s a surreal feeling being able to come out and represent my home," Flagg said. "They had a great season last year, so I’m just trying to come in, add my piece to it, try and continue being great, and make history."

The Black Bears made it to the America East Conference Finals last season for the first time in over 20 years. Now, they’re counting on Flagg’s versatility to help them go even further.
