MANCHESTER, N.H. —
New Hampshire is not in a drought yet, but with the heat wave continuing and little rain expected, that could change soon.
Since July, many areas have been drier than usual, with residents noticing brown grass, dry soil and needing to water their gardens daily.
The U.S. Drought Monitor, released Thursday, lists parts of the state as "abnormally dry," but not yet in drought.

Most of the state is expected to see a significant drying trend over the next week to 10 days.
It has been about a week since the last notable rainfall on July 31, and above-average temperatures are likely to continue through much of next week.
