Judge halts construction at Alligator Alcatraz

A judge temporarily halted future construction at Alligator Alcatraz, the ICE detention facility in South Florida, for 14 days, as arguments about whether or not the buildilng of the facility violated environmental protection laws are heard in court. Environmental groups and a local tribe have filed for an injunction against the facility. A civil lawsuit was also filed alleging detainees rights were being violated.
