MILWAUKEE — An attempted vehicle break-in early Thursday morning led to an exchange of gunfire in Milwaukee's Jackson Park neighborhood.

The entire ordeal, which started around 12:30 a.m. in the 3600 block of W. Lakefield Drive, was caught on a nearby doorbell camera.

According to Milwaukee police, unknown suspects were attempting to break into a vehicle when they were confronted by a 23-year-old male who was the owner of the vehicle.

The suspects fired shots at the owner as they fled in another vehicle, and he returned fire.

No injuries were reported. The 23-year-old was taken into custody.
