CHICAGO — As the end of summer approaches, Illinois residents have a new way to knock the DMV off their to-do lists.
Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias announced that 13 DMV locations across the Chicago metro area will now offer expanded walk-in hours on Saturdays through Sept. 6.
This move aims to help reduce weekday wait times and provide more flexibility for those looking to renew licenses, register vehicles or get a REAL ID.
The new Saturday walk-in hours will run from 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and customers will be able to access a variety of services, including: • Renewing or applying for a driver’s license or state ID • Obtaining a REAL ID • Switching from a Temporary Visitor Driver
