SOUTH FULTON, Ga. — Inside a Fulton County courtroom, the family of South Fulton Police Captain Helio Garcia III pleaded with a judge not to grant bond to the woman accused of killing him in a drunk driving crash.

“She was drunk. 98 miles per hour. And killed a human being. Killed my son, your honor,” said Helio Garcia Jr., the father of the fallen captain.

Sitting in court just feet away was Santoria McLean , the woman accused of causing the head-on collision that took Garcia’s life.

“We lost our first grandson and what's happening is, this is like déjà vu for my wife and for myself. We're reliving an accident my son had,” Garcia Jr. added.
