SEATTLE — Seattle was buzzing hours before kickoff Thursday night. Fans packed Pioneer Square for the Seahawks’ first preseason game and to welcome back a familiar face.
Pete Carroll returned to Lumen Field for the first time since leaving the Seahawks in January 2024, this time as head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. His presence added extra electricity to a night that was already shaping up to be one of the busiest of the summer.
“I got Pete Carroll, I got Chip Kelly and Geno Smith, man, it’s on," said one Raiders fans.
While most fans said they were thrilled to see Carroll back, there were mixed feelings about seeing him on the opposing sideline.
“I am so excited to see him,” another fan said. “I hate seeing him on the other team, but I’m excited to see him on the field.”
