LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- Four Michigan men are facing felony charges, accused of being involved in a large counterfeiting operation on Amazon and Walmart's online marketplaces, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced Thursday.
Nessel says that in October 2023, Walmart Global Security contacted Nessel's office to assist in an investigation into suspicions that some merchants were selling counterfeit luxury perfumes and colognes. That investigation led to the uncovering of an illegal "distribution network."
In December of that same year, multiple law enforcement agencies executed search warrants in Port Huron, where they seized more than 300 boxes of counterfeit fragrances. A second series of warrants executed in Sterling Heights led to the seizure of more than 100,000 boxes of cou
