U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville broke through the $5 million mark in donations for his gubernatorial campaign, according to his latest campaign finance report.

Tuberville reported more than $720,000 in contributions during July, according to his filing Monday filing with the Alabama Secretary of State’s Office.

Alabama’s senior senator has raised more than $5.2 million for his campaign for governor since his announcement in May, campaign finance records showed.

He collected six-figure campaign checks from two sources in July: both Birmingham-based Protective Life Insurance Co. and the Community Health Systems network of hospitals based in Tennessee wrote $100,000 checks to Tuberville.
