DENVER (KDVR) — East Colfax Avenue will be the first corridor in Denver to receive a Bus Rapid Transit Line.

Rapid transit lines move the transportation process along faster and offer more convenience and comfort for riders, but some business owners on Colfax Avenue say there is a price to pay for all of that growth.

Mama Jo’s owner, Jodi Polson, tells FOX31 her business is losing customers as a result of the construction.

“As soon as the construction got heavy in front of us, people stopped coming in,” she said.

A Denver Department of Transportation and Infrastructure spokesperson tells FOX31 the section of the project adjacent to Mama Jo’s is scheduled to be completed by mid-2026.
