BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. (WIS) - Following a special election last month where voters in Blythewood approved changing the town’s form of government, its mayor is now pushing back.
The referendum approved by voters on July 29th takes executive decision-making power out of the hands of the mayor and into the hands of the town manager.
In a Facebook post, Mayor Sloan Griffin says his decision to seek legal counsel isn’t about positions; it’s about honoring the law, the democratic process, and the voters.
“I am not questioning the people’s vote. I believe in democracy,” said Mayor Sloan Griffin.
