RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT)- “Tennis Under The Lights” at Byrd Park is paying tribute to the significant contributions of African American tennis players through the years with a special exhibit hosted by the Black Tennis Hall of Fame .
Courts 1 and 2 were transformed Thursday evening into an open-air museum, showcasing the Black Tennis Hall of Fame’s “Breaking the Barriers” exhibit .
Black Tennis Hall of Fame founder Dr. Dale Caldwell explained how the exhibit honors the legacy of black tennis players, both well-known and little known, who broke racial barriers and helped shape the sport.
