CROOKSTON, Minn. — On a hot, sticky day in Crookston, a cool cup of lemonade came with a big dose of heart.
About 100 children took to the sidewalks Thursday, Aug. 7, not to make a profit, but to make a difference. Their goal was saving a beloved community pool, one cup at a time.
Across town, more than a dozen lemonade stands offered people relief from the nearly 90-degree heat and high humidity. Every glass sold supported the Crookston Community Pool.
“We’re gonna save the pool because they don’t have enough money,” said Luna, 8, one of the kids at a lemonade stand.
