LONG BEACH, Miss. (WLOX) - A casino developer wants to rebuild a resort on the Long Beach Harbor. On Thursday, the Board of Aldermen held a special meeting to discuss the plan.

In November, the city approved a lease with casino developers for land in the Long Beach Harbor. The plans also called for developers to obtain the Weigel property north of Highway 90.

However, after failing to reach an agreement for the property, the company is looking to take the project fully south of the highway. The revised plan involves three acres from Parrish’s Restaurant and the Long Beach Yacht Club up to the highway.
