Rebel Wilson is facing a new defamation claim.

The Bride Hard comedian has been hit with a "concerns notice" over an Instagram post she made in July 2024.

The post claimed Charlotte McInnes, the 26-year-old lead actor in Rebel's directorial debut The Deb, had experienced misconduct at the hands of the movie's producers.

While those producers went on to sue Rebel, 45, for defamation, Charlotte's lawyers have now also delivered a "concerns notice" about the post - the first step in a potential defamation suit.

"This was (Charlotte MacInnes') first lead role in a film and you cruelled her professional reputation before she could even enjoy the benefit of the success of the film as the lead actor,'' the notice stated.

"The Publications cast Ms MacInnes in a particularly negative light, speaking as they do of her dishonesty and lack of trustworthiness, and being able to be bought corruptly in return for favourable benefits."

The notice requested damages, costs and for Rebel to commit to never posting "defamatory" content about her former colleague.

"Ms MacInnes claims general damages, aggravated damages, and costs, as well as a permanent injunction to restrain you from publishing the defamatory imputations about her or anything similar in the future," it said.

"Ms MacInnes claims the damages were aggravated, in particular, by her knowledge of your conduct in publicly disclosing our client's name as an alleged victim of sexual harassment, without her consent, and then accusing her of lying about it as justification for identifying her."
