KANEOHE (HawaiiNewsNow) - Luke Shepardson, winner of the 2023 Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational, got another ride of a lifetime when he flew with a Blue Angels pilot during a special demonstration Wednesday.

The nation’s premier aerobatic flight demonstration team is in town for this weekend’s Kaneohe Bay Airshow at the Marine Corps Base Hawaii.

“It’s our job to represent the over 800,000 active-duty reservists, sailors and Marines, many which are deployed all of the globe at this time,” said Cmdr. Adam Bryan, U.S. Navy flight leader, commanding officer.

The event is free and open to the public both Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Attendees can view displays of vintage and modern aircraft, an exhibitor expo, and food booths.
