CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Dozens of community members and organizations met tonight alongside city leaders for the monthly ‘ACT for Cincy’ meeting.

ACT for Cincy is a city initiative we’ve previously reported on to combat city violence.

“I think everyone in this room, everyone in this community, every one of us do not like waking up to see death and people’s lives cut short, but what we do know is that you all are a part of the solution,” said City Manager Sheryl Long.

Residents were asked to write down what they are seeing, feeling, and hearing around their neighborhoods - and what they think is needed.

Some ideas include on-the-ground school-based programs and support for youth outside of school.
