WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. —

The family of Jaea Chatman is still in disbelief as they mourn the loss of their daughter, who was killed in a DUI hit-and-run on Jefferson Boulevard in West Sacramento last Saturday .

A memorial now marks the area where the tragic incident occurred. Satori Todd, Jaea's mother, expressed her anguish, saying, "I can't get the tragedy out of my mind, just thinking about how he hit her and left her sitting there. That's haunting me at this point."

Layla Chrissa Clemons was also killed in the crash.

Todd attended court with both families on Wednesday, as prosecutors accused David Walker, 71, of leaving the scene, returning to see one girl's body, and then leaving again without offering help.
