LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - When Maureen Schell bought her home in Bashford Manor roughly eight years ago, there was no telling how long the old fence in the backyard had been there.

“It rotted in a number of places, and it had never been painted or treated, as far as I know,” Schell said. “It was just time.”

Schell removed it with plans to put up a new one. She paid more than $2,500 up front to Cardinal Fence and Security.

The check was cut on July 15, deposited on July 17. After that, communication became difficult.

“I am frustrated,” Schell said. “I don’t have a couple $1,000 just to float.”

After weeks of waiting to get an install date and a crew failing to show up to her house on Tuesday as promised, she wanted her money back.
