LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A mother and her 2 children were kidnapped Friday morning by a man who invaded their home, stole their car and then robbed the PNC Bank branch on Shelbyville Road.

The kidnapper was armed with a knife.

Police say the mother is recovering from non-life-threatening injuries.

“He got in her vehicle along with her and her two children,” LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell said. “…he drove them here to this place, to PNC Bank, and received an undetermined amount of cash as a result of that.

“The woman did receive some injuries from the assault,” Mitchell added. “At this time, they appear to be non-life-threatening. Thank God for that.”
