LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The Louisville Metro Police Department has released the identity of the arrested suspect of Friday’s home invasion and bank robbery in St. Matthews.

A spokesperson for LMPD said that the robbery began as a home invasion.

Police said the man forced a mother and her two children into their car, a Mercedes SUV, and drove it to the PNC Bank on Shelbyville Road while armed with a knife. He then robbed the bank’s drive-thru teller before running away.

During the incident, the woman was stabbed in the abdomen, but the two children were unharmed. The mother was taken to the UofL Hospital where she underwent emergency surgery for her injuries and is expected to survive.
