ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —
An Albuquerque man was convicted in federal court for his role in a multi-state fentanyl trafficking operation .
The conviction comes after the largest single fentanyl pill seizure in the history of the DEA. One stash house in northeast Albuquerque was found to have about 150,000 fentanyl pills, $72,000 and several firearms were seized.
Alex Martinez, 38, was found guilty of conspiracy and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl. He was found to serve as a "regional manager" within a drug trafficking organization.
That organization supplied local distributors in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Hobbs between July 2024 and April 2025, according to court documents. The historic drug bust happened in November 2024.
