ATLANTA — Two MARTA police officers were hurt late Thursday after a confrontation with a man at the Five Points station in downtown Atlanta turned violent, police confirmed.
The incident happened around 11:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, when officers tried to stop a man who was urinating in the station’s parking lot, according to the Atlanta Police Department. Officials said the man became aggressive and fired at the officers.
One officer was shot in the arm, and he was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for surgery. Another officer was grazed in her leg and is expected to be released soon, APD said.
