According to Reader's Digest , there is a real law on the books in Galesburg that was obviously created by a lawmaker who was jealous of individuals with mad bike riding skills and tricks. American Legal Publishing's code library says it reads like this:

"73.15 TRICK RIDING.

No rider of a bicycle shall remove both hands from the handlebars, or feet from the pedals, or practice any acrobatic or fancy riding on any street.(Ord. 82-854, passed 4-1-1982)"
