A woman has been caught on CCTV 'stealing' a £2500 gold necklace from a Pollockshields jewellery shop.

Haroon Jewellers, on Albert Drive , took to social media to share footage of the alleged theft. In the clip, a woman can be seen hiding the necklace in her hand before dropping the item into her bag while reaching for her purse.

The incident took place at around 4:40 p.m. on Tuesday, August 5. Police are now investigating the incident.

In a post, Haroon Jewellers wrote: "THIEF ALERT – NICE TRY, BUT YOU’RE ON CAMERA. To the person who came into Haroon Jewellers today and thought they were in Mission Impossible… Spoiler: you’re not Tom Cruise. You’re just a thief — and we’ve got clear CCTV of you helping yourself to a necklace that didn’t belong to you.
