CALEXICO – Early Wednesday morning, August 6, the Calexico Fire Department deployed a Type 3 Brush Engine to support firefighting efforts at the growing Rosa Fire in Riverside County. The team joined forces with units from Holtville Fire and Imperial County Fire as part of a coordinated response to the fast-moving wildfire.
According to the Calexico Fire Department (CFD), the Rosa Fire had scorched approximately 1,700 acres by Wednesday and was 21% contained. Upon arriving at the scene, Calexico’s crew was immediately assigned to the fireline, joining the frontlines in efforts to slow the fire’s advance.
