HOLTVILLE – The Holtville City Council held a special meeting on Wednesday, August 6, consisting solely of closed session items, but emerged without making any public announcements.

Mayor Mike Goodsell confirmed on Thursday morning via text message that there was “no announcement” resulting from the session.

The agenda for the special meeting included two primary items: a conference with labor negotiators and the ongoing evaluation of the city manager. No further details were made public.

Councilmember Murray Anderson told the Imperial Valley Press that the council met to continue discussions regarding a new memorandum of understanding (MOU) with city employees. The MOU covers proposed salary increases and insurance matters.
