The inquest has opened into the death of a 15-year-old boy who passed away on the M60 last month.

Israel Iyabor, from Middleton , sadly died after emergency services were called to junction 20 of the motorway, close to Blackley , on July 20.

Greater Manchester Police said they had been called to the scene after receiving reports of a 'concern for welfare'. The ring road was shut at around 4.30pm as emergency services responded to what was described by transport agencies as a 'serious road traffic collision.'

An inquest into his death opened yesterday (August 7) at Rochdale Coroner's Court.

In a short hearing, Assistant Coroner Julie Mitchell confirmed that he had been living in Middleton and was 15 years old when he died.
