What does it take to build a football dynasty in one of Pennsylvania’s most competitive conferences? For Peters Township and Upper St. Clair, the answer is a decade of blood, sweat and an unrelenting rivalry in the WPIAL Class 5A Allegheny Six Conference.
“When we took over Peters Township 10 years ago, we were banging on doors just trying to get a rivalry,” coach TJ Plack said. “For you to say, ‘How is that rivalry?’ puts a smile on my face. It’s been back and forth for the last eight years.”
Five of the past six WPIAL Class 5A title games have featured Upper St. Clair or Peters Township. The one that didn’t? Moon still represented the Allegheny Six Conference.
