Bryan Reynolds has been a better hitter of late, but hadn’t really had a headline-grabbing moment. On Friday, he had the biggest hit of the game.

Reynolds hit a two-out, two-run triple off Reds reliever Tony Santillan in the eighth inning, taking the lead and giving the Pirates a 3-2 win against Cincinnati. Dennis Santana pitched a 1-2-3 ninth and earned the save, his seventh of the season.

For seven innings, it looked like another game where the Pirates wasted good pitching. Mitch Keller was solid, but the Pirates looked overmatched against Reds rookie Chase Burns. Burns, boasting a triple digit fastball, struck out 10 Pirates in six innings. He allowed one run on three hits.
