Bryan Reynolds has been a better hitter of late, but hadn’t really had a headline-grabbing moment. On Friday, he had the biggest hit of the game.
Reynolds hit a two-out, two-run triple off Reds reliever Tony Santillan in the eighth inning, taking the lead and giving the Pirates a 3-2 win against Cincinnati. Dennis Santana pitched a 1-2-3 ninth and earned the save, his seventh of the season.
