ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. - The one thing we thought we knew for certain going into the preseason was that Evan Neal's bid for a successful transition from tackle to guard was going to get a lot of play - make that playing time.
Now that's up in the air based on Neal being on the side working with the training staff during Thursday's final practice before the Giants hit the road for their preseason opener in Buffalo on Saturday against the Bills.
Because even more than Neal's performance for the past three seasons, with a lot of ups and downs for the former No. 7 overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft, it's been his inability to avoid injuries that has led to his downfall.
For Neal, he has shown flashes of solid play while working at right guard with the first-team offense, rotating in with retu
